So, I've been poking around this place, and I have a few questions. How can you tell whose online? or is there no way to tell? and where is the page that tells you the 'stats'? or something like that.

sorry for the delay, huh? don't you know everybody's been sitting around here bored? they're waiting for you to show up and 'go dire'! Ha!! (I swear I actually laughed out loud for real when I read that!)

anyway, I found the page. So here's my question? Are you getting paid to be on this forum?? Do you even have time for a regular job?

#1 been on here for several years & i own my own business so i can goof off here and there and chat sometimes on the LMA during downtimes

#2 completely totalled my lower right leg and been in a cast and out of work for over 4 months (since middle of july) - cant walk, drive or anything

#3 had not idea when you sent me the email - was offline for several hours - and had several drinks in the meantime - spoke out of turn

OOHHH! I get it. you've got entirely too much time on your hands now, so you can come on here and 'play'! Maybe the being in the cast has made you a mean, angry, (all those things you listed yesterday), etc. wolf. ??

I read all the posts here today. Lots of people are trying to get their point accross about how everyone treats each other on here and the way everyone reacts....

and all of this happens to coincide with the fact that a woman happens to come to the forum (finally)? coincidence?? maybe not! :)

i used to be far far more worse a couple of years ago (almost got banned ) - im a much nicer wolf now - i only joke around and have met many many more friends. this has been a great forum the past few months (barring two or three outbursts by a few people - myself included) - and it is great to have you here too.

You two had better be nice. I just finished re-upholstering the furniture and the poor cat is in therapy after the last "episode".

Just because you're in a cast, Dire, doesn't mean you can bite the screen. Actually you can if you want i guess.

What happened to your leg anyway?

Hey, and Dancinbears, how come you only post when Dire is around? Huh?

I actually just put a post up for anyone to answer max. You could have answered it. I did e-mail Dire earlier and ask him, but he didn't answer me, so I came on here to find out.

Don't worry Max, you and me are buds!! Dire's not going to get in the middle of that. :)

i was posting yesterday and calling you cute and sexy?? ok - well i guess i was drunk then and sober now. my mistake

and yes, i have no memory - that i will agree with - makes no difference with the amount of posts - i put toothpaste on the toothbrush, close the cap, turn the water on, and try to squeeze more toothpase onto my toothbruth through the closed tube. My brain is toast - that comes from 4+ months of mental and social solitude (well, 10 hours a day or so). Just me and Spooky. And believe me, Spooky is more mentally inept than me (though not by much i have to admit)

and you show up and here we all are???? my don't we have an inflated ego :)

It's ok thou... Deadhook has got all the bells & whistles! and when I'm on LMA I miss my little emotioncon people that dance and move, a lot!! the reason I was asking where the stats are, and other things.... was hoping we could have the features that we have at deadhook.

Now I'll answer Deadmax's question again.... how could I even know Dire is on here? There's no place that tells you. But i think it would be cool if there was... don't you?

Dancinbears it's not a matter or knowing, its a matter of "knowing". You know the the old pychic link thing.

I'm just shooting the fecal matter. I'm kinda down right now for other reasons and came here for some fun.

All in fun, only ever in fun. Unless of course the subject matter is something utterly serious like the Grateful Dead.

Max C. - being drunk is ok.

Dire - sorry about your leg, same thing happened with my social adeptness, severed it actually.

Arbuthnot - where have you been and are you from Akron or not?

Truthfully, i think her and J only want me along so as to have a guy with them while they wander around a strange city, and i did live there so i know the city fairly well. And actually, this year i'm dragging them to Hoboken NJ to show them a site or two in that historical place, before we head on back to NYC so they can 'shop'? What is it with women and shopping?

Not to worry man, never took you for an ass, even if J says that's one of your better features (ah, you wish she said that! ... and she's got the motherlode of fine asses, as you know ... wink, wink).

Okay, sorry for the temporary descent. But Hoboken my fine furry friend, is the root directory for the namesake half of my bloodline. It's an incredible city, though sadly much destroyed in character in the mid-80s by the infusion of certain professional monied types, who kicked out all the Hoboken lifers and less-fortunate folks, took their dwellings and converted them to condos & townhouses. However, it happens everywhere and not much you can do.

But i have a little 'tour' that i give to Hoboken virgins, complete with a history and anecdotal evidence. Visited more times than i could count when younger and still like to visit from time to time.

Also, birth place to The Feelies, one of the better indie 80s bands that ever formed.

When the leg's all better, will be glad to give you the tour.

my leg?? I was an idiot while riding my mountain bike, spiked my front tire in some sand and my right leg went off the pedal (no i dont use clips unfortunately) and got jammed while the rest of my body kept going forward. I shattered my tibia and fibula right above my ankle. The tibia is still totally screwed and may never really be normal again - i dont know - hope it will - xray is disgusting. had CT scan done last week since the xray wont show enough bone healing - i'll find out more tuesday.

Just came up out of the timeless fog of 1969's 2/22 Dream Bowl ... very sweet show (thank you dr.flashback). For all the debate in recent weeks, most eloquently put forth by our very own William Tell, Jerry's voice in 1969 is, dare i say it, unmatched in its quality of beauty, and so perfectly aligned with the music itself; timeless and improvised and just-so-out-there.

Well thank you Dancinbear; you know that Dire and I get along fine...As a biologist, I have an affinity for fuzzy carnivores, and you and Dire are members of the same tribe even if dire wolves went extinct about 10,000 yrs ago. They were amazing animals--lots of them in the tar pits of So Cal; you would probably have to be a cavebear to really hang out with him, but the idea of the two of you impressive carnivores as the royalty of the forum is just great, even if you (and even dire?) have given up your namesake approach to dietary intake. Hmmm, better drop this thread before it gets any stranger...

... if you were speaking directly to me, vis-a-vis, you'd not be able to tell if i had been or am drinking.

But please don't get my previous post wrong, as i can appreciate and understand why someone would want to know who is online. However, in my not-always-very-humble-opinion, this is not that type of forum. It is not "active" in that sense. It has, as i mentioned, uniquenesses that apparently those who visit here appreciate and enjoy, and very likely a contributory factor in why so many of us come here as opposed to going to another forum. I for one have no use for emoticons, nor for knowing who's logged in, or for how many posts someone has posted.

And for that matter, why should every forum be the same, with the same bells and whistles. But please, not trying to argue with you, just stating how i feel. Others may feel differently, and likely do, and i can respect that.
